ABOUT LISE LIMPET

I was born and raised in a small fishing village in northern Denmark, and I have always had a strong connection to the sea. Now I live in the far west of Cornwall, and I travel around with my cat and my van, exploring places to swim. I also find materials and inspiration for making my tide clocks around the Cornish coast.

My first tide clock came about when I realised that a tide clock on the wall would allow me to quickly assess where to go for a safe swim. I decided to make my own, using sea glass I had collected when visiting beaches and coves. Soon I was making clocks for friends then started to sell them online.

My tide clocks are popular all year round, both as a useful piece of kit and a decorative souvenir, with anyone using the sea: swimmers, surfers, sailing and boating folk, anglers, and holiday makers.
